Our History
2023 | The Birth of Jax Jets
The Jax Jets Adaptive Hockey organization was established in 2023 to provide an inclusive and supportive environment for athletes of all abilities to enjoy the game of hockey. As a proud member of the American Special Hockey Association (ASHA), the Jax Jets bring adaptive hockey to Jacksonville, creating opportunities for individuals with physical and developmental challenges to participate in a sport they love.

“The Jax Jets have given McKenna and Molly a remarkable chance to unite through their shared passion for hockey, a sport that brings back cherished memories of their late father. As a widow to four resilient girls, I’ve strived to keep his legacy alive, and our family’s love for hockey has been a beacon of hope. Having grown up skating and playing in Ohio, I always envisioned my children following in my footsteps. McKenna, born medically complex, has defied the odds with 35 surgeries and counting, yet she’s determined to thrive alongside her siblings. Joining the Jax Jets has significantly boosted her skating and puck-handling skills. Witnessing McKenna and Molly, her devoted younger sister, shine on the ice together – McKenna taking shots at Molly in goal – is truly exhilarating. I know their dad is proudly watching over them, inspiring the incredible hockey players they’re becoming.”
